I'll have to tune to 38. I'm on the other side of the river from you. Lots of locals on 17 AM here.ussixtysix wrote:I hang out on 38lsb. Looks like most of the over modulated ratchet jaws are on channel 6 (super bowl) around here. Being such a large city. I think you can find people talking on many channels all day and night. In over 300 different languages.

I usually tune to 38 unless I'm travelling and then I dual watch 38 and 19. 38 used to be THE channel in Baton Rouge when I was coming up and I still hand around there for nostalgia and there doesn't seem to be too much cross traffic in my area.

Re: Your Local Channel?
Yes, we actually have two clubs here in this county. Channel 10 and 35 clubs. My club, channel 10 has around 15 members. The 35 club has around 20 or so. We all get along fine, i mean there are disagreements from time to time but nothing ever gets too out of hand. We are all just a bunch a cb lovin fools down here. Its gotta be about the hobby and helping each other better ourselves. We get together every Thursday night for role call and sometimes the pres will read a bible verse or say a prayer. We also get together once every couple weeks or so and have cookouts, play music, just have a good time.str8stroke wrote:556, Yall have a club? if so, how many members? just curious how that works. not sure I could ever get more than 3 people to agree to join a club. everyone seems to not like each other from time to time! lol

Re: Your Local Channel?
There are no locals here in Western NY either. I just got back into CB after being off since 1988. I put up an I max 2000 and my old JC Penny 6241 and there is no one on the air. There is an interstate right by be and CH19 is even pretty dead. The most traffic I hear on 19 is a local factoy directing incoming truckers to the proper loading dock. I am going to try and get a few of my old CB friends to get back on, I know they still have thier gear. I will try and hang on 38 LSB and see if I can make any contacts it seems that a lot of you are on there. T Rex..

Re: Your Local Channel?
27 is the local channel for Oconomowoc WI.
Not sure what the folks here in Watertown are using (if at all).
Im glad to see some drivers on the expressway still use their radios. It's a great way to pass time in A traffic jam.

Re: Your Local Channel?
Seems Central New Jersey, parts of New York and Long Island sue 39 LSB. There is a group in the Flemington NJ area using 31AM. I hear South Jersey guys on 38LSB. Really don't listen to AM too much, have kids in the house and don't to listen to the truckers dropping those F bombs all day, seems like if it wasn't for cuss words they wouldn't have anything to say.
