Post by hilltop 439 »

I am going for my ham tech exam on the 15th of this month i have been studing for two months and i feel i am ready to take the exam.
My question is what can i expect on test day ? I have been taking the practice test exams on the internet and acing them all . Are the practice exams the same question as on the real tests? Any comments are appreciated.

The practice exams are pretty much exactly like the real test.
Go in, bring ID and a couple bucks cash, take the test, and walk out!

By the way, if you take the technician and pass, you get to take the general for free. If you fail the general, no big deal. If you pass it, then great!

You can keep on going from there as well. It is possible to take all 3 tests in 1 sitting with 1 fee.

I agree...start studying for your general now. Take them both and be done with it! That is, until you decide to go for your extra. :icon_e_wink:

if I remember correctly, the questions are identical to those on the practice tests just the multiple choice answers are out of order.

The Tech test consists of 35 multiple choice questions, they are randomly taken out of a larger pool of these questions. I believe you can miss up to 5, although that may not be accurate. If you have been studing online for a while you have probably seen all of the questions at least once. As Linx and 231 said, study for the Gen now, knock out both tests at once if possible. Even if you don't pass the Gen this time you will be more prepared for the next time. When I was taking my Gen test a man took and passed all 3 tests, Tech, Gen and Extra the same day. Good luck.

If you do a lot of the practice exams over and over, you should pass it pretty easily. Since Techs have voice privs. on 10 meters, you should have have a blast! :)
