Change RogerBeep time on a RCI-2980
Change RogerBeep time on a RCI-2980
can anyone tell me how to change the roger-beep time on a Ranger-2980
I'm sure other techs here could answer the question better, especially considering I'm not sure if the 2980 and 2990 use the same or similar boards.
There's a resistor about half-way down the side of the board nearest the speaker. Adding a resistor in series (inline) with that will either increase or decrease the beep time. Putting one in parallel (one on top of the other) will do the opposite.
Sorry, I modded my Saturn Turbo to do it, but it's been 10 years since I've had that radio. If you figure it out, you can also add a switch which will allow you to use the stock beep, or your modified one at any time.
