Do you get any audio through the speaker? Or you're getting sound with the squelch turned down, just no reception on any channels? Have you tried having someone nearby key up to see what happens?

If you can get a little bit more specific with the exact problem, we can help better.

Ditto that. When you say "no signal" do you mean that the radio won't key up? Or do you mean you cannot hear anyone?

alright, plugged mic in, and that didn't do anything. i'm gonna take it apart to see if my speaker wires are loose, or off. but how would the speaker affect not picking up anything on my power-signal gauge?

It's not the speaker that affects it, it's the wiring on the mic jack on the radio. Lots of radios will have no audio output to the speaker, and no indicated reception on the meter, until you plug in a mic that is wired properly for that radio.

Which brings me to the next question. Is the mic you're using wired for a Cobra radio?

Either that or simply re-wire the mic. I'd say that's the problem right there.

well, what do you mean by rewire? the mic worked fine on my midlands cb...do you mean that the pins have a diff. function on cobras?...if so, do u know where i might find that? and, phaze, i'm the only one in my general area that i know of that's into cbs...so, i'd bet if i scrounged around and talked to some of my dad's farmers i could prolly find one, but i've gotten everything i have except for my antenna from them, so i'd rather rewire.

thanks phaze, one question, are those from the female or male end, wouldn't that make a difference? because if you were looking at it, it has the indention at the top to tell you which way is up. and which order do numbers go in? i hate asking so many questions of you guys, sorry.

female male

u u
1 2 2 1
3 4 4 3

so they would mate together well...or do i have it all wrong?

If you look at the end of your mic plug, you will see the numbers there.
