4 wire mic to 5 pin plug

This might be a dumb question, but here it goes:

I have a 148GTL which is 5 pin. I bought the 4 pin to 5 pin adapter which works great. BUT, I have a 4 wire Cobra mic that I want to hook up to a 5 pin mic plug, eliminating the need for the 4 to 5 pin adapter (mounting issue). Is this possible? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Perfect. Where would I find the correct connections

I have this info in my notes:

Pin 1 = Modulation
Pin 2 = Shield
Pin 3 = Receive (RX)
Pin 4 = Ground
Pin 5 = Transmit (TX)

So on a 4 wire mic, would this be correct.
4 wire to 5 pin
Pin 1 = Modulation
Pin 2 = Shield and Ground
Pin 3 = Receive (RX)
Pin 4 = bridged from pin 2
Pin 5 = Transmit (TX)

Hi,

That will work on a Cobra 148 and 2000 GTL, but on a Cobra 142 and a Washington the radio would squeal if the volume control is turned up on receive. I know it is crazy; you would think that the problem would be on Transmit. The radios are 95% the same radio, but the 4 wire Mic will not work on the later 2 radios if pins 2 & 4 are jumped.

Just thought you would want to know if you tried it on a Cobra 142 GTL or Washington.
