Install ideas for a 2010 Prius

I was bored the other day and wanted to figure out how to temporarily install a small AM/SSB rig in my commuter car, 2010 Prius. There's a large center console "pod" that prevented me mounting anything under the dash and there are knee air-bags right underneath the steering wheel so I had to find an out-of-the-way spot for my TRC 465. Pictures speak many more words:











Power is from the arm rest storage cubby, there's a 12v jack there, presumably for an MP3 player or phone charger, with an in line filter with a standard Cobra/Uniden 3 prong cord, and just using a mag mount Wilson 1000 on the center of the roof. No holes drilled into the storage cubby underneath the shifter console/pod, just have to disconnect the ant. and 12v line and tuck them under the seat.

There's noise from the hybrid engine when you brake, but tolerable, otherwise, it's pretty quiet. No major hiss or white noise from the hybrid system.

I'm happy with it.

Man, I miss my TRC 465, sold it to make some quick cash about a year ago. It was a nice K.I.S.S. am/ssb radio. Oh well, that's seller's remorse I guess.
