I saw this at a flea market and wondered if anyone thought it is as valuable as the price tag says.

A handful of tubes, too.

That is a decent price for that tester. Average price range seems to be $85 to $100 in very good working condition or better for that model. It's just an emission tester and not a mutual conductance. It would be an okay tester for someone that only needed to test some tubes once and a while. Emissions testers are about as basic as it get and they honestly aren't very accurate but they're better than nothing. If high accuracy and more discerning is what your after then get a mutual conductance tester. Doing research on emission and mutual conductance testers is a good idea. Easiest way to get an understanding of the differences and such.

LOL Nagant..... I have one of those Tube Testers! And for the one above, yes it is worth the price.... If it is worth it to you to have something like that. many don't use Tubes anymore, But agreed, if you come across a surplus of Tubes they are nice to have to check, or a suspected bad one can be verified quite quickly...
