'02 tahoe install, no holes.
So, I sold my truck, and for the next few months I'll be driving a borrowed 2002 Tahoe, and since it's not my car, when i install my rig i don't want to drill into anything. I've got a Galaxy DX959, and a 54" century class fiberglass antenna. I've heard about people mounting the radio on a hook that hangs off the side of the console from the cup holders, how well would that work? After looking i could pull that off pretty easily, I've got some aluminum scraps that i could fashion into 2 hooks and just bolt to the radio mount. Also walcott cb has a fender mount for the tahoe that uses an existing hole, which i think would work out fine. My main concern is mounting the radio. I can't really think of another way to mount it. any input would be greatly appreciated.

Those 'hooks' can certainly work, just remember to do all the 'connecting' they don't supply. Another option would be to 'sand bag' the thing if you can find a spot on the floor. Or maybe fabricate a mount that uses a seat bolt for mounting? As for the antenna mounting, the mount you speak of can certainly work too, or just mag-mount the thing.
The mainest problem with any newer vehicle is that no provisions are ever made for mounting stuff easily. I figure the manufacturers think that if you don't buy it from them, then it ain't worth making space for. Your imagination is a really great 'tool', use it...

Thanks for the help Doc, I may look into a mount using the seat bolt. I like the hook idea because it would let me keep it on the passenger side of the console where its convenient, but when I've got some one else in the truck, I can hook it on the front and have it out of the way for both of us.
I would post pictures, but every time I try cbrt tells me I'm not authorized to post links and use bbcodes.

Also, there's a small "pocket" on the back of the center console that i could use the hook on, though it would cover up 2 of the 4 back seat cup holders...
