Cobra 19 radio. Cant save channel selection between poweron

I have a cheap cobra 19 DX radio that has a very annoying trait.

You turn it on and it is hard set to ch 9, you select your channel and the radio works fine.

Stop the truck, power off the radio and the next time you turn it on, it defaults BACK TO CH 9.

Is there any way to have this radio keep the channel settings between power offs ??

Probably too much to ask for such a cheap radio.

2 things, some radios have a ground wire, and 2 power wires, 1 power wire is for memory,so you hook that one with to live power all the time,,but if yours only has 2 wires, hook the power wire up to a live power all the time,,,Cobra PLUS series had a 3 wire hook up, I think they had a black, Orange, and red wire, Orange is to be hooked to live power all the time,,,

My RCI 2995DX kind of does the same thing. When I hit the Manual button to display channel numbers instead of frequencies, It goes to channel 9. Kind of a pain but I'll live with it. All it takes is a flick of the knob to whip it up to my main channel.
