Connex setup

#325890

Post by forcheck »

Please answer a question for me. I just got finished talking with a CB guy I know and from what I gathered I have my new connex setup wrong. I ran my Red power wire to the Pos on the battery and my black, negative wire to my negative terminal on the battery. I also put an on off toggle switch inline of the positive. He told me that I should disconnect the black from the battery and connect that to a chassis ground as short as possible. Does this make sense?

I'd go straight to the battery and loose the toggle. Put a fuse there instead.

What about the black wire should i run into the battery or to a good chasis ground. The toggle is convenient cause the radio is sitting on the floor behind the passengers seat.

Well...I am a Chassis ground freak. Thats where all mine are grounded. Also, make darn sure you have a fuse inline on the positive side. As for the switch. Its all good, just make sure you have air flow around the radio where ever you have her mounted. I guess you just leave the radio on one channel? See ya! hope that helps.
Ric Flair is on the Air, with Pink Underwear!!! WHAOOO!!!
