GALAXY 99 HAS SOME PROBLEMS

#35823

Post by mudder »

I bought a used galaxy 99 the other day as some of you know.it seems to have some problems.the voice changer doesnt seem to work right seems like the guy used it alot and broke it,it works but not like it should,it feedsback and squeals.also on sideband people tell me it sounds like its starving for power like if you shut a car off and talked on sideband.not sure what that would be cause its hooked up to a 35 amp power supply and thes more than enough to power it.also the small clarifier on sideband i have to have it all the way to the left and my bigger clarifier thats unlocked at about 1 oclock to be on frequency.anyone know what could be causing these problems?and who would fix this for me?i dont wanna spend alot on it to fix it i gave the guy to much for it now that i see the problems it has oh well guess he ripped me off.*sigh*

ok the starving for power problem was just that.i hooked it up to my astron 35 amp power supply and now that problem is gone.funny i thought the palomar aplifier power suplly come was 35 amps but i guess not.but strange thing is it will handle my connex 4800 with the on palomar base amp power suplly combo but not the galaxy 99 i dont see why.the both seem to do 15 to 20 watts on sideband so its kinda odd....im wondering if there is a way to run the amp off the palomar base amp power supply combo and hook it to my astron power supply so i can run it with my galaxy 99 or is this not possible?
