I am a Ham Radio Operator. However, today a neighbor gave me her now deceased brother's CB equipment. There are several items that I can use but I can find no information about what is identified as a SOS Electronic Scout... I do not know the specific model number; it is not on the case. It looks like a power amplifier but I could be wrong. I would like additional information about it. I cannot find any information on the internet.
  • What is it?
If it is an amplifier, what is its power range?
Is there a site with more information that I can visit to see specifications?
Do you know where I can get a manual?

Any other information you can give will be greatly appreciated.

It's pretty amazing what Google can do for you. Remember...GOOGLE is your friend.

The SOS Electronic Scout is a CB amp designed for low drive...

Should have eight 6LQ6 or 6MJ6 or similar sweep tubes in it, but only four are in the final amplifier stage. Tuning range about 25-30 MHz. No room inside to add all the extra components required for "80-10m bands," along with a suitable bandswitch.

You can probably use it on 10m just the way it is (maybe even on 12m also), just be careful not to overdrive it and let the smoke out. It only requires about 4W drive for full (~300W) output power.

Also check thru this CBRT post from 2008.
