Cobra 148?
Cobra 148?
Would the Cobra 148 be a good radio for use in my car with a Wilson 5000 Mag Mount on the roof? Looks like I could probably get a used one on eBay for about FEEFTY BUCKS (as Omar Suarez would say). Also, what's the difference between the different models (NW, ST, GTL, DX, etc.)?
Thanks!
Thanks!
JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION.... AN INEXPENSIVE RADIO AT A CHEAP RADIO IS USUALLY THE 1ST CHOICE FOR MANY PEOPLE. INCLUDING MYSELF. BUT AS SOON AS YOUR TALKING ON IT & evryone else walks all over you... YOU BEGIN TOO REALIZE THE CHEAP STUFF COST MORE IN THE LONG RUN. SURE IF IT'S 3: 00 AM YOU WILL GET OUT RELATIVLY WELL. OTHER THAN THAT GOOD LUCK UNLESS YOU JUST WANT TO TALK TO PEOPLE RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.. AFTER ALL A COBRA IS A GOOD RADIO, BUT CAN NEVER BE A BIG RADIO.. HATE TO PUT A DOWNER ON IT FOR YOU. I HAD A BARE BONES COBRA 25 FOR 6 YEARS. IT IS WELL WORTH IT TO SPEND A LIL MORE & BE SATISFIED WITH WHAT YOU HAVE. BUT MOST OF US STARTED OUT WITH A COBRA OR SIMILIAR RADIO... SO IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT... 50 BUCKS IS NOT A BAD PRICE.....
Cobra 148's mobiles are the best cobra out there, GTL's are great, same radio as the famous Cobra 2000,,,,can be modified ect,,,they tune well, find a non China made for best results, they have a bigger final in them,,NW is night watch model, glows in the dark face,,DX is an export model,,St is the sound tracker, just a new type filter,,,,,,GTL is the best, if not made in china,,,one of my main radios on the bench is a 148GTL, with 40 channels above and below the CB Band
