Hello phidil,
Welcome to the forum. The Browning 776 desk Microphone, (made by Turner), is basically the same as a Turner Sidekick so it would wire the same. You could find a wiring guide on CB Tricks.

the mic will require power from the radio to run it's amplifier since there is no battery"brownings have voltage on one of their pins for this".
to adjust the mics amplifier gain take off the bottom plate "if you didnt already know" and adjust the potentiometer on the inside bottom for mic gain"

Yep, forgot all about it's power source. A 9v battery clip will work but I would need a schematic or the mic to say how to wire it in.

Here's another old post, But some one may find this useful.
There 2 versions of the 776 Mic.
The Brown Stripe is for a MK3, 2 pin mic plug that's wired like this, pin 1 is Audio, Pin 2 is PTT, The Shield and Black wires are soldered to the spring.
The Orange Stripe is for the MK4 and it's a 4 pin plug that's wired like this, Pin 1 is Audio, Pin 2 is PTT, Pin 3 is Shield, Pin 4 is the power source of aprox. 5 VDC.
If some one would like the color codes to these mic's i can pull the plug off and tell ya what they are.
I use a 3 cell AA battery holder that makes 4.5 VDC to power my 776 mic's on my mic tester. If you wanna use a 9 volt battery you MAY need to cut the power down some. But i have tried both 4.5VDC and 9VDC on my Mic Tester and and it seamed the 9VDC was louder, But long Gevity as far as using the 9VDC battery i would have to say, Use it at your own risk.
Hope this help's someone out.
