Looking to buy this old ham/military radio maybe

#365844

Post by Lost Ram »

Hello Folks,
I got some crappy pics of an old radio I might buy. I am going this weekend to look at it. I know the pictures are very bad but its what this guy sent me. He claims it works?? Does any one know what it is by these really bad photos? I am hoping its an HF rig. This guy retired from brothers work. My brother talks like he will let me bring it home and try it out. My question is it even worth my time?

Your right about those pics, whew, talk about shaky hands. All I can tell is it's a separate transmitter and receiver, since it's black faced likely Navy, Army was normally green, English lettering so it was an allied forces. It is an HF rig, probably AM/CW. They are interesting pieces.
Maybe when you look at it you can take some decent pics.

If you have some time on your hands you could search through the manuals on "BAMA", [Please login or register to view this link] .
Good luck,

Thank you sir, I will give that a try. My brother might also try to stop by and get some pics and info seeing the guy lives close to the shop.

I wonder if it has a stationary bike generator that is the power source, the War Museum here is Baltimore has something similar, it's an RA-200, but theirs is lettered in Russian.

I was kind of wondering price range, I was thinking 50-100 bux but I dont know if I am way off or not either way. I talked to my brother he said he was going to go over and take some real photos after work.
