S10 CB wiring journal
Thought I might run a journal of my truck installation for eventual Galaxy/TRC-485 use.
I will let phase one be the wiring with P2 the antenna and P3 the radio mount. Right now I have a Walmart special Cobra 19
floating on the hump. It does ok with a tweaked pot and the Little will powered with a cig adapter.
I have plans to take my time on this so it may be long and drawn out.
P1 Wire installation
I'm using old wire setup that used on a stereo amp in my '72 GMC, personally I hate those amps and their noise but my setup was needed as the truck had no ac and the wind noise was an issue.
My truck, a 2003 Chev. s10
I found this accessory battery post at Autozone
I will be using a 30 amp fuse
Wire passes through the grommet for the AM/FM antenna
and finally the handy ground post
Right now I have to decide how to connect wires, I would like a jack so radios could be swapped and I'm real temped to rewire the cig jack as it can be accessed for rewiring.
Well Thanks for looking and of course any input will be gratefully received.

I have an 04 ZR5 as well and I DESPISE side terminal batteries. I have a dual terminal (side and top post) Optima in there so I don't overload the side lugs with junk and so I have a better connection for my accessories at the battery.
For some reason when I click on your pics to enlarge them all I get is a blank screen and the thinking symbol in my browser. I would like to see where you are grounding inside the cab.

Whoops, I forgot to update this.
What I wound up doing is using 2 of the 3 the hold down lugs on the center console (the two in the aft) easy to hide the wires. I have one wire going to the power ground and the other to the thumb screw on the side of the radio. I'll update this with some more pics this weekend. I can pull them up ok so I don't know why you can't. I agree with you on the side post however I just bought this battery so stuck with it. If you need help with the console give me a holler.

Pics are working now...no clue what happened.
I'm still trying to figure out where that last pic is?

On my truck you can lift the rubber tray on the fwd end of the console and that pic is the single hold down stud underneath it.

OK...I never tried that. I have been searching for a good ground for my power chord forever. I tried the bolt for the gas pedal, but it doesn't show continuity for some reason.

This is mine when I brought it home in 2006 with just under 22,000 miles on the clock.
