Howdee all!!
I've got a beater 575M6B mic that I want to wire up to my 2950DX and have up down channel control as well. I bought it with the U/D buttons already installed but previous owner had rewired it to 4 pin Cobra and just left the buttons in place. Before I re wire it to 6 pin RCI, I need to track down where a rather nasty hum is coming from in the mic. Could it be a bad shield wire? Short on wires 5 & 6? I haven't had time to play with it and hope someone can give me a few tips to get me started in the right direction. I'd like to have it wired up by this weekend before the "blizzard," (I live in Maine......snow )
Thanks a lot!!
Greg

This would be the way it's wired,
Astatic 6-Wire MIC. Wiring
1. Ground Shield & Blue
2. Audio White
3. Transmit Red
4. Receive N/C
5. CH. UP N/C
6. CH. Down N/C
Now the black and yellow wires would have to be disconnected from the microphones PTT switch and used as the up/down switches, I don't know which is which, an ohm meter comes in handy here. You will probably find that it's wired wrong causing the hum, don't look at the wiring pic on CB Tricks the stock color code will throw you off.

Forgot to mention you should have a jumper from the mic's blue wire to the up/down switches. They need a ground to function.
