Just picked up a MacDonald Instruments 06-32-75 walkie talkie for a local recycler. Now I need to find the manual so I can get it back up to par.

Love it so far... It has a seperation kit so I mounted the head unit on the dashboard. The menu features are easy to operate. A lot easier than you would think. I Talked to Poland on it yesterday. It's a great sounding rig.1206FL wrote:How you like the 857D silvereagle1??

3 nights ago i picked up a Texas Star 500 V amp and a Connex 3300 single final radio, along an Astatic D104-M6 mic with some coax and stereo amp power cables, plus a Rat Shack external speaker.
A few weeks ago a guy I know fell on hard times and sold me some of his CB gear (to pay his rent) which consisted of a Navaho TRC-458 base radio, a Cobra 29 Soundtracker w/added echo and talkback, a Superstar SS120 mini radio, a Galaxy 225 amp, a Workman HP201 meter, a cheap power supply, a Cobra power mic, a Ranger SRA-158 mic and a few other pieces.

Nice! MACO Shooting Star, that's the one I was just thinking about getting. It was between that one or the MACO Y Quad. Wonder how easy or hard it is to set one up.
Anyway, to answer the post, I just acquired a galaxy 2527 which is hard to find these days. And also just picked up a Silver K Eagle Mic too. Now all I need to do is decide which antenna to get and not hard to assemble and raise.

Going to find out tomorrow how hard it is to put together...shouldn't be that big a deal on the construction end...the instructions are pretty straight forward...trick maybe getting it tuned tho, but MaCo provided some tips on tuning, so hopefully the tips pay off.G2527 wrote:Nice! You'll be fine, the things are pretty much foolproof. Nothing more than some minor wiggling on the gammas is all you'll have to do, at least that's been my experience. YMMV.

Thank you for the reply PA629 & jessejamesdallas , as long as the numbers aren't in calculus, it will be a fun assembly. I just seen some that I think required soldering. Which isn't too hard to do. Good luck with your new antenna jessejamesdallas hope to hear ya out there someday. Everyone else have a great day and hope to post an update of some more new equipment in the near future (don't we all)

I recently got a lincoln II for the mobile. So far it is a great performer and the receive is nice. Other than that I snagged a few estate deals and now have a ton of odds and ends, some I'll keep.

Just purchased a Cobra 29 LTD Classic for 30 bucks! Appears to be in great cosmetic condition other than a couple of scratches. The meter light doesn't work but thats an easy fix. Also bought a new power cord and meter(just in case). Next, I just need to decide what coloe LED light I want for it. I think green or red would be nice. Time to shop on GI Joes site!
