I have a Cobra 29 LTD Classic i have not used it for several years. I went to hook it up last night on my bench put my dummy load in it and turn it on. It powered up ok and everything looked like it worked ok but i hear no sound at all. I then hooks it up to an antenna and still no sound what do you thinks could be wrong with it. thanks

I would bet money on the mic.

From experience:
Check the CB/PA switch,
Make sure the squelch isn't all the way up...

I've done 'em both....

more than likely since it has set for so long you have a bad connection inside the radio. clean and lube all the controls on the front of the radio then if it does not come back check for voltage from the PA CB switch for voltage to the board. then if it has voltage start checking for bad solder joints in the PLL, VCO.audio chip areas. you could have a bad solder joint from the squelch control also. it will be a simple fix you just have to locate what area has the bad connection.
