Microphone Adapter
Pro Trucker CB Radio Microphone Adapter -
Converts a Standard 4-Pin Cobra/Uniden Mic to a 5-Pin Cobra/Uniden SSB CB Radio.
Could anyone tell me if this adapter will work to convert a D-104 power mic.
with a 5 pin plug to a 4 pin to use on a Cobra 2000 tlc cb base radio with 4 pin jack ??
I think it might fit but I don't know if I will lose my power amplification from the D-104.
Thanks 73 to all !!

Re: Microphone Adapter
The cobra 4 pin (mic) to 5 pin (radio) should work for you. The best thing would be to wire the mic right to the radio, those adapters make it easy to break the microphone jack on the radio. The audio will still be amplified, best way to set the mic is to open the radio's mic gain up and adjust the mic's gain to where it is just getting ready to sound overmodulated then back it off a touch, from then on use the radio's gain to adjust your audio.

Re: Microphone Adapter
Thanks Greg,
I haven't got the Cobra 2000 yet.
The guy wants $100.00 for it : untested ,no mic ,no speaker.
I know they are good radios , no speaker or mlc isn't a big problem
but buying a untested radio scares the crap out of me.
I don't want to pay $100.00 for pretty doorstop.
Right now I have a Realistic Navaho TRC-459 with a d-104 and a RM kl-203p kicker
pushing about 40 watts with an Antron 99 about 25' up with 1.5 match.
but I still can't get out more then 5 or 6 mi.
l may just stay with the setup I have for now.
Thanks again for the info. and advice
