Well, I just got a GE hand held 40 channel with 3 weather channels.
Can't seem to find a manual for this model anywhere.
3-8595A

The Cobra 142 GTL is hooked up, the President Washington is hooked up.
The President McKinley is doing the job.

Still need to get the Tram 1499 antenna up and running.

Just got an Echo Power Mic for the Cobra.
Finally got connected with some local folks on 25 AM.
Washington is doing a decent job with D-104
McKinley is doing the best job with D-104 mobile mic
Cobra seems to be a bit off freq and low mod wit Echo mic.

Prolly sen the Cobra to get peaked first.

Still gotta get the Tram antenna up.

Happy 4th ya'll.......

Just curious as to which SDR you purchased and what microphone are you going to use? I use a Electro-Voice RE-27, super clean hifi audio.. Good luck with it.. They are fantastic..

Cool, everyone raves about the Flex radios but I think the Anan models are the way to go, (BTW, they are "MARS" ready unlike Flex). Keep us in mine if you start to develop any problems with it, heaven forbid.

Will do.... We have a group of guys that talk locally on one of the channels we made home.. Every Friday & Saturday we try and get on, from 11pm until 1 am.. Of course not every one of us is on every week, but the channel has been growing.. I know of 4 other people that have the same radio, we strive for a clean audio station.. They have had the radio for a number of years and the radio has been very reliable, no issues so far.. Lets hope it stays that way.. :icon_e_smile:

Not so new but I picked this up at the Berryville (VA) Hamfest on Sunday, had $50 taped on it and offered the guy $10, started to walk away and he yelled "Sold". Got home, hooked it up, to my amazement it works great, a tad dusty inside, may need a couple of caps changed but nothing new for a radio of it's age, looking it up on the internet not realizing how rare they are.

Been wanting an AM radio to talk with the locals that only use AM and then don't need to change any settings on my SSB gear.

I recently got a McKinley - I am still running the stock mike and have been considering an upgrade.

The Mic works great on the McKinley. This weekend I am expecting to change
my antenna from the Tram 1499 to the
12' Patriot and then I should be getting out better.

Sparkomatic CB5100 AM CB base, still has the handles on it, that makes it even rarer in itself. Wanted something AM to talk to the locals that don't use SSB, this will keep me from messing with the setting on my SSB radios.

I don't recognize the radio, but it is a beautiful looking base station. Also looks to have many different features.

Nice radio, shame it doesn't receive but that could be just the mic, bad or broken wire in the plug. Post the problem in the topics and see what others think.

Hey,
Been having a lot of mics coming in for repair but not the radio so I finally broke down and bought a mic tester from GI Joe's, it was back ordered for a week until he got another shipment in.

Just ordered a Palomar SL41 microphone. I intend to use it on a Uniden mobile, but will see how it sounds on my President McKinley also.

I did purchase an Astatic D-104 Night "K" Radio today. I should have it in a week, or so.
Pretty excited about this classic piece of equipment added to my rig.
