i was wondering if it would hurt the amp part in my general hp 40 if i put a swing kit in it thank you

I'm guessing you meant a General Lee HP40W, I don't see any benefit from doing this, the radio is a single mosfet final driving the 4 mosfet amplifier. In the worst case it would possibly overdrive the amp and sound terrible, most likely popping a couple of fet's.

yep what he said. i dont get it. people buy a nice radio. the first thing they do is start butchering it up with crap mods. use it as it is. not worth blowing finals to get a few extra watts out of them.when i had my shop i had a sign on the door no swing mods or limiters removed at this shop. move on to the truck stop.
