Post by Deleted User 30222 »

I want to perform the following mod to my radio,Galaxy DX959 The question/problem i have is. I don't have the 2-SPDT switches yet. But, why can't i make the connections inside, run the cable out the back of the radio. Then just twist or untwist the wires to open/close. Seems simple enough. Just wondering if anybody can see a problem. This is the link i'm using

I'd wait until you get some switches, not like there is a bunch of operators up or down there to talk to now a days, the mod just gives you some extra channels if the rest are busy. I wouldn't waste the time doing the 10kc mod unless you really want to.

That clarifier mod (I do method #1) will only yield about 1.2kc of slide up and down. Look at the range mod, check to see if the radio has a 12K resistor or not. The 10kc mod lets the that is on CB Tricks lets you get the skipped channels missing because of the skipped channels programed in the chip, back in the day they were called the "A" channels used by RC hobbyists.

I plan on doing method #1. And i just read that about the 12k resistor. But i guess it depends on the year it was made. My sn:95959539
