Galaxy Clarifier Mod
Galaxy Clarifier Mod
Hello CBRT, I just finished doing the clarifier mod to my Galaxy DX959. Have to say it all went very smooth. With the exception of finished results. When i turn my radio on, all seems fine, but you can here a tone coming from the radio. No other sound whats so ever. I turn the volume up, i hear nothing but a tone. But it does go away when i turn the squelch knob all the way to the left(counterclockwise) If i set the mod switch from swr to pwr, and key the mike. The tx/rx light turns from green to red. Here is the link i used to do the mod.

Re: Galaxy Clarifier Mod
It's really hard to tell by the pics, look at the 8v trace where you soldered the wire and make sure you haven't crossed the solder joints. Look on the component side too, some solder may have flown thru the holes. I hope you didn't over heat the board.

Re: Galaxy Clarifier Mod
The TX/RX led is suppose to turn red on transmit and green on receive.

Re: Galaxy Clarifier Mod
On the radio's counter that is all it will read, actual slide is 1.2kc. You will have to do some internet surfing to find a mod to get a little more but most of those mods make the clarifier very touchy.
