is this on SSB or aM that it shows wrong. in line does not work good on SSB. are you sure the radio is off or is the external counter off.
being 2 hz off the receiving station would pick you up as off freq. you really do not want to start turning some thing inside the radio until you are sure as to which is off.

Boy,, run on sentences are getting harder to figure out in my old age but I'll give it a try.
First answer sonoma's questions and I have a couple too. Is the clarifier set for RX/TX/RX-TX? Is the clarifier at the 12 o'clock position when you took the external reading? How many fingers has been inside this radio before this happened?
There are adjustments for the frequency inside but if no one has been in it the problem can be fixed via the menu.

Re: anytone 6666
MDY I just got a at666. was setting it up to TX and RX with the clarifier. the question I have is does the freq counter move with the clarifier after setting it to RT as the menu shows.
could not find any where if the counter is freq counter or just a read out.
so far the radio seems to work just fine . got it used in the box for 102.00 shipped to the house. so not a bad deal so far.
when the radio is showing the freq instead of the channels when you move the channel knob or the buttons on the mic the freq counter just moves 1khz at a time.
when it has the channel read out it moves one complete channel. have never owned one so just having a few questions since the manual does not say much.

Re: anytone 6666
No, the clarifier acts like a RIT in the TX/RX mode, the frequency is just a display and will stay on the dials input. You can set the dial in the menu to act like a VFO and then the frequency tracks. You should be able to set the VFO to 10hz in the menu. I've watched a few of the YouTube's and did the cap change for the voltage, didn't need the Palomar regulator change but might do it in the future.

Re: anytone 6666
thanks MDY, I will see if I can find where you change the freq reading as you stated to make it a VFO. do you have to change the info to 10khz to make it track with the readings when you turn the clarifier.

Re: anytone 6666
I believe it's just a click on menu, the mode and then the dial to change the menu setting, if you don't have a manual I'll see if I can PDF the one I have and send it to you.

I have the stock manual that came with the radio. just trying to figure out all the settings right now.
I guess I will figure it out after I play with it some.

Re: anytone 6666
Good, you will figure it out. One thing I would do is turn the AM pwer down inside. I have mine set at 10W max with the RF power turned all the way up, it will still swing to 40/50w. SSB it does 65w PEP easy.

Re: anytone 6666
I got this radio very cheap. not any hurry even run it yet but just trying to learn what does what with it. only reason I bought it was because of the price.
I have not even opened it up either. may do that today some time.
thanks for the info you gave.

Nice radios...but built very cheaply. They do not being rattled at all. Excellent units for stationary base station use.
