What's the funniest CB setup you've ever seen? Mine probably has to be the pickup with twin CB antenna mounts on each side of the cab, but instead of actual antennas the guy had a couple of straightened out coat hangers...

Probably worked better than the guy I heard of who hooked his CB to the cable TV outlet in the wall of his house so he could use that great big cable TV antenna tower outside of town as his antenna. If legend has it right, he not only fried his finals, but also a few cable TV distribution points. And that big tower on the edge of town didn't even belong to the cable TV company...

This Soccer-Mom mini-van belongs to a guy that go's by "DJboutit" down near Houston...After countless posts asking people on a Forum where and how he should mount a antenna on the Van, and everyone telling him NOT to try and mount these antenna's on the rear quarter panel, he go's and does it anyway!

One week after having a shop install the antenna's (they tried to talk him out of it too) the right hand side mount broke, and the antenna was dragging the pavement while he was flying down the Interstate...So, what does he do to fix the mount? He gets some bungee cords and self tapping screws, and tacks it back together...There's pictures floating around the Internet somewhere of the bungee cords, but I dont have a copy...

By the way...If your wondering what radio he has inside the van...It's a Cobra 2000 GTL with a Palomar 400 strapped to the bottom of it, and it sits in the floor between the driver and passenger seats...There's two external speakers, one in each corner of the dash by the windshield...(seems like they were Uniden Bearcat speakers)

Although it's hard to see, this Trucker was at one of my stops a few years ago, and his antenna caught my eye...The Coil is broke, so this yo-yo decides to take part of a "Slinky" and make a new coil!...........Top it off, the coax is just pushed up in the connector...It's just barley stuck in there when I took the pic

I've heard of people mounting Cobra 2000 GTL's in their vehicles before. Don't know what possesses someone to use a huge base station radio for a mobile installation. Especially in modern vehicles where there's not a lot of spare room.

I had a Cobra 29 LTD come across my bench, the guy said it wasn't working right and smelled like burning plastic. It didn't have an internal speaker, clue #1, I hooked it up to my bench, turned it on, keyed it up, 75 watts so something was done to it. Well he had it modded at one of these well known CB shop (see them all the time on YouTube) with a RM Italy AD203 amp inside the radio, hence the no internal speaker. The yo yo that installed it wrapped it in bubble wrap and placed it in the case. It was such a mess that I put the screws back in the case and said to send it back to **Non Sponsor** to fix it right.

My wife would kill me if I put up that many antennas.
