Re: cbtricks web site problem
Bennie is one of those people that would rather throw something in the trash / die with it, than sell it or pass it on to keep the legacy going. Was a great site, but he has shown zero interest in doing anything with it in quite some time. Whether it is lack of money or time, something could have been done over the last few years.
Re: cbtricks web site problem
OMG! its gone! i just tried em and the site wont even load. there was so much info on there. what a tragic loss for the cb community.

Re: cbtricks web site problem
is there someone out there that has a hard copy of the original site and not the archive site that will share with the cb community?

I'm glad I got all the schematics I needed off it before it disappeared, but what a loss... though I did manage to find some schematics on the archive site.

Re: cbtricks web site problem
I got an email back from Bennie and here is what he said in the email. I told him to please add a donation area so we can all help out, even $1-$5.00 will help. If you all have used the site and know the valuable info there, its a great site so when it comes back lets all try to help out

Thanks for the info dss56. That is good news. I'm hoping to do a 10kc mod to my DX959. So can't wait.

Awesome news. Glad the site's demise is only temporary.

Re: cbtricks web site problem
I was just about to mention the "wayback machine". If you go there, and enter cbtricks.com, you can still view various things, I don't know if everything will load up, but should be able to see much of it.dss56 wrote: November 24th, 2018, 6:22 pm try this cbtricks archive link for know > [Please login or register to view this link]
You can still get to the Galaxy 959 10K switch info (I just checked).
I certainly won't hold my breath on cbtricks coming back, but we'll see.
Not sure why your link wasn't working, I'll try it.

Good info, thanks. I guess he had been bombarded by emails and just haven't gotten back to everyone yet.dss56 wrote: November 24th, 2018, 5:52 pm I got an email back from Bennie and here is what he said in the email. Re: cbtricks web site problem
Was a long time member of that site. After the site went down this year in March with no info forth coming from the owner I got a bit perturbed made a comment on the forum about the lack of info and one of the moderators booted me off. If the forum comes back I would hope the ability to boot people off the forum is taken from the control of moderators and put in the hands of someone responsible, without attitude, and hopefully they would reach out to the culprit before just booting them off. Tons of info gets lost that way.
As for me I donated a couple of times to the CB Tricks site so I have several sets of disk that were sent out for being a donator.
If the CBTricks forum comes back I don't know if I will even go back. I'm sure the booting of members with opposing opinions will still go on! The site owner received my donations and then the boot. LOL

The new site is not up. They have just figured a way to use the old site till the supposed new site is ready to go.
