Good echo board or box?

#39181

Post by Maverick »

I've been wanting to get an echo chamber so I wouldn't have to drill a hole in my radio, are they any good, or would I be much better off with a board? If so, what's a good echo board to get? I'd be installing it in my DX 949

Sounds like a good one to get advice from Al at Sparky's.

If you don't need a noise cancelling mic, look at a DM-452 SuperStar 4 Pin Echo Mic,,,,they are a power mic with great connex sounding echo,, RF make a good echo board, little pricey, or Astatic makes a good reasonable one, if you don't want to drill a hole, you can remove the RF gain(or dimmer), put it inside the radio and put your echo controls in its place,,,on cobra 29's I use the delta tune and replace it with the echo,,,but the Superstar mic really works well, I have one on a old Lafayette base station,,,

Thanks for the replies guys! I was thinking about an echo mic, they just looked cheap and I doubted the quality of the echo. Thank's for steering me in the right direction! I think I'm gonna get that superstar mic.

Yea that mic isn't a Road King or an Astatic, but the echo and amp in it is 2nd to none, I wish someone would put a good mic together for the price of a SuperStar
