Midland 77-113
120 channel mod, I have the instructions and understand I need to swap the connections on two solder pads. My issue is I'm unable to locate the broken trace. Ive had two other electronics techs take a look and they see no gap in the traces. Anyone else come across a radio that didnt have the broken trace? Maybe I have a early/late version. Idk... any help would be great.

if you have a later version of the chassis, your outa luck. the circuit was redone to eliminate the ease of modification per fcc rule. that radio has an fcc type acceptance so after the fcc saw how easy it was to do a frequency modification on the early chassis they stepped in and made midland change the circuit. happens all the time.

Re: Midland 77-113
I figured I'd just give it a try and swap the solder points and now the radio display shows a + / - when ch 9 button is pressed. I'll double check it on a meter for output, I just ran out of time today with Christmas. I followed the cb tricks directions but my radio had no cut trace. I'm guessing it's an early radio or I just got lucky. Thank you MDYoungblood and 51 for the fast response.

Glad the mod worked for you, the PCB was probably a first run and didn't have the modified traces. I did that 120 channel mod to several old walkie talkie's I bought, basically the same mod.
