Connex not recieving great

I replaced my Cobra 29 with a Connex 4600. Bought from **Non Sponsor** CB. I immediately noticed when people are close the receiving signal seems not clear or stable. The further I get from them the clearer it gets. I hooked up the external speaker it was a little better. Any ideas?

the first thing to try is the next time that happens, try turning the rf gain control down. does the receive signal clean up? if so, the radio is having a bad front end overload problem. a receiver alignment is usually all that is required to fix and or minimize it. hopefully you didn't have the censored cb shop you bought it from "peak and tweak" it, if so you might have a whole new set of problems with it.

Thanks I will try turning the RF gain down and post results tomorrow

I turned rf gain down but that didn't change the poor recieving. Doesn't seem to always do it

It sounds to me like someone had messed with the receive section thinking they could tune it up, looks like it needs to go to the shop for a proper alignment.

Tech said turn RF Gain down slightly because connex sensitive when close to other people transmitting. Said it was common for Connex radios. I don't have a good CB shop near me .
I will have to live with it for now.
