Is it just me?
Is it just me or what? It seems like 1 out of 40 channels are being used, not to mention USB and LSB.
After coming back in to the CB world after 25 years or so, no ones out there it seems. Other then the one channel 19(truckers...boring).
Hmmmm

It sure as hell isn't what it used to be, but I don't think it's that bad. I guess it all depends on where you live. Here in Denver there are a few active channels 6(Super Bowl), 16 and 18(Mexicans), 19(truckers), 22(Bad Bones), 29(Some Big Radio guys). I have never heard anyone on SSB here though, only DX contacts. Well, I hope you have better luck tomorrow!

I think CB use has fallen victim to technology. In those 15 years we've gotten cellphones, computers with email and chat rooms, text messaging, and the general public who used to have a mild interest in CB radio have moved on. What you have now is the 'hardcore' hobbiest. I think it IS true that CB has a lot of traffic on a few channels while the others go begging. With only the hardcore guys left, they tend to flock together (the birds of a feather principle). Sometimes I hear people talking about how "crowded" CB is and how it needs more channels. But I don't think that is true. It just SEEMS like CB is jammed up with traffic, but the people only congregate on a few channels out of the 40, and they base their assumption on what they hear on JUST those few. We just need to use the empty ones more! :D
