I go SSB quite often here in Virginia. I do it to lose some of the locals, "most" only have AM radio's.
It's touch and go in my area. One night lots of activity, the next night nothing. Most of the time its distance talking, with lots of activity after 10:00pm. Does your setup have good "ears"?
