I'll have to find the schematic again but I think the 8v pin (#2) only has voltage when the PTT is in transmit mode so don't let no power on the jack fool you (found that out on my mic tester). If the radio is functioning okay I would suspect the mic has been "golden screwdrivered" somehow, I have had plenty where the wires have been messed with because it wouldn't wire up to a curtain radio.

Yes I did I'm taking to a radio Tec now. The Mic wires up to a cobra radio just fine so I suspect ham radio color code at least on this radio is different

Which "Echo Master 2000" brand is it? Sadelta made one and so did Astatic (also called an EchoMax). If 51's pinout is correct then it should be;

pin 1 is white
pin 2 is N/C
pin 3 is N/C
pin 4 is N/C
pin 5 is red
pin 6 is blue or brown
pin 7 is shield
pin 8 is N/C
So the black and yellow wires aren't used, insulate them from touching anything.

Hopefully no one was inside the mic messing with the wiring there.
