Mod accident

Post by Deleted User 30222 »

Performing another mod on my DX959. And was desoldering a capacitor. Turns out it was the wrong one. Unfortunately it fell out and i don't know how it goes back. Please don't laugh at my pic. From what little i could find out. I think the shaded side is Negative. That's the symbol on my circuit board

And it is a electrolytic cap

I have no positive marking on the board. So my drawing is right, the shaded side is negative. Like in your pic, Area filled indicates negative side.

Don't forget cbtricks may have the board view layout to look at (should for the 959). Also view the schematic if in doubt, you can see what the negative side connects to. If you are fiddling around, it is good to familiarize yourself with schematics, at least the basics of what parts you are looking at and how they connect; can often really make things easier when you can go straight to the schematic for the info you need.
