Uniden 980SSB

Got this unit some time ago, went to use it and have no TX! Any one got the schematic or service manual for it? I see Uniden is still being stingy about it. You would think an 11 plus old model would have SAMS out on it or something.

I had contacted Uniden about this a couple years ago and they politely said that service manuals and schematics were not going to be sold or released. A question about your radio, it doesn't transmit,, meaning no wattage output on AM or SSB or no modulation?

No TX out in LSB USB or AM. With that built in SWR circuit etc I am just trying to avoid doing the obvious if there is another way. Probably blown final but I held out hope.

still unclear. does the radio not go into transmit mode? or is there no transmitter rf output when transmitting?

keys up, no RF out. By keys up I mean that the RX stops and it switches into metering mode to check RF or SWR and there is no output. Does not show on my scope, my counter, my meter, my spectrum analyzer etc etc.

probably the driver and/or final rf output transistors have failed. i would remove them from the circuit and check them out.

Took the skin off and the RF filter section is trashed. Looks like a train wreck. I bought this brand new and it does not appear to be modded or tweaked before.
