I am putting up a Hygain Silver Rod
So I am guessing if I can do the run from the Base of the aerial to the location of the radio in one length of cable this is best for the SWR. I assume as there is such a thing as an inline connector cables can be extended. But at what cost. It is going to be done and up a twenty foot mast on Thursday so I want to get it right first time. Your thoughts?

Hello Techuk,
Sounds like you have a plan. I would build the antenna and do all my adjustments on the ground before putting it up on the 20ft (ft.??,, you guys go by mm,cm, don't you), SWR shouldn't change much after raising it, might even improve. A good thing about 11m is if your coax is short you can add the additional length without a lot of loss. The word you are looking for is a barrel connector, used to connect 2 PL259's together.
That antenna I have seen it advertised in several different brand names, Thunderpole, Venom, Sigma, in reading reviews the Thunderpole model was the best. A local purchased the Sigma brand and the SO239 connector on the bottom of the antenna fell apart in assembly. Being a "pond" apart, any warranty it may have had would have been a mood point.

give yourself extra length on the coax cause you never know, you just might find a 30' pole
