Just for grins, I hooked up my Radio Shack TRC-241 handheld radio to the A-99 this evening. It has a scanning feature and I was able to pick up transmissions on many channels. I even got a response to a radio check!
Question is, are there any "real" radios that have a scanning feature for AM or SSB or both? If so, this would be a great help to the Mad Hatter hunched over the base station looking for people to talk to....
