Kind of exciting isn't it to bust through mush out there and actually get heard. :-)

Where is your location? I'm in Pace near Pensacola, FL.
Today I was hearing North Carolina on ch17 and ch19. Couldn't make any contacts as it seem everyone there likes their noise toys sounds like a kids tv show gone wild sometimes.

I know how you feel. Just made my first contact on June 5th, and it just happen to be a member here. Go figure. So a shout out to my friend Blue Ox2. You are at the top of my contact list :)

I do remember my first, it's been a long time.

I heard a radio out in the distance, signal was moving around. I called out and he came back, we talked to each other for a good hour.
I said that dinner was ready and the sun was going down. He came back with he had a couple hours of sunlight left and needed to finish the field (he was running a combine) he was in so he could do another tomorrow.
Stunned I asked," where are you?" (thinking he was a local farmer), he came back, "Dutter's Farm in Highland", I said "Where is that?",, he replied "Iowa!!" I was floored,, first real non local contact.
