What type of capacitor
What type of capacitor
I did a mod to my radio (which turns out was the wrong one) that i need to change back. But in removing this little cap, i broke it with my needle nose plies. The cap is C191 on my Galaxy DX959. And this is the info on the cap: C/C 100PF 50WV CH K
This is what i get when i Google it.
So i'm just trying to figure out what type i need. Thanks

Re: What type of capacitor
Use tweezers instead of needle nose pliers when pulling parts, can get decent ones for electronics repair, but any will work and be much more gentle with the more delicate parts. A 100pf capacitor will have 101 or 100 marked on it, easy to buy or snag out of other electronics (I use to save all kinds of old / non working electronics to steal parts from).

Re: What type of capacitor
Like Pioneer said, get one out of a donor piece of electronic equipment. Bet you have something laying around that isn't worth anything, old alarm clock radio, old cordless phones, etc.

I learned that out about 2 seconds after crushing the poor little thing I also save old boards just for that reason. My luck this will be the one value i don't have.Pioneer621 wrote: July 12th, 2019, 1:50 am Use tweezers instead of needle nose pliers when pulling parts, can get decent ones for electronics repair, but any will work and be much more gentle with the more delicate parts. Re: What type of capacitor
Actually going through stuff now. Does it matter the style of cap it is. Electrolytic, Ceramic or film, etc.MDYoungblood wrote: July 12th, 2019, 5:39 am Like Pioneer said, get one out of a donor piece of electronic equipment. Re: What type of capacitor
Ceramic or film won't have a polarity. Ceramic will probably be what you have to go with since the small value it is.

Re: What type of capacitor
It is a disc cap, easy to find in a donor, 90% of the disc in a, say, clock radio are 100pf.
