Radio set up for amp
I have a cobra 29 that. DK’s 1 and swings 40ish. I am wanting to use it to drive my 2x4 amp. Will this be to much? Running it into a predator 10k with SWR 1.1-1.2

Re: Radio set up for amp
Hello John and welcome back.
This is my personal opinion so here it goes,, I'm pretty sure your Cobra isn't really doing 40'ish watts peak so a 2X4 (unknown builder?) would run fine, peaks are just that and the radio isn't up there long. Now a 2X4 (guessing 2x2290's driving 4x2879's) is really made to be driven by a modest radio, 2 to 4 watts DK and swinging upwards to 20+ watts. If the radio was a high drive, continuously over 40 watts then it would be best to get a straight 4 pill.
If you still have one of "Sparky's" radios, I would make it a keepsake, Al (Sparky) passed away in 2012.

Will do. I’ll post pics of the install when I’m done. Excited to start stomping on some locals again.

I am getting a lot of interference from my LED headlight bulbs through the antenna. Is there anyway to combat this or am I SOL and have to go back to regular lights

Speaking of "Sparky"....His forum is still up! However, you must have joined the forum back before 2010 to log in...if you did join back then, then if you still know your password, you can log back on!
The forum is on "autopilot"...No monitors, the owner is dead, no new people can join since there's no one at home to approve applications...
At the moment, me and one other pretty much have the place to ourselves....

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
