Volume maxed squelch wide open barely any static. RS TRC-201
So I received two realistic cb crystal transceivers the trc-83 works just fine no issues but the realistic trc-201 has an issue where it has very low static when the volume is maxed out and the is squelch wide open it will receive and transmit but only a short distance. These are handheld cb radios. Where do I start to begin to repair it?

You could try cleaning up the pots with some deoxit spray. Look at the adjustments, give them a little tweak, a 1/4 to 1/2 turn then back again to break up any residue that may have built up with age. Other than that very low RX/TX means the final is possibly gone.
