Can my Galaxy DX 2547 have more output power then my off the shelf unit now has?

I'm no expert, but you can try turning your RF Power knob up. You could also turn VR14(AM High Power) up some. Or you could pick up a small heater for it. Make sure to check out our sponsors for the best deal.

If it is a new bone stock 2547 the only things I would do is tweak VR14 (AM modulation pot) for some better audio output and VR13 (SSB ALC control) . I don't suggest turning up the AM power or clipping any limiters, this radio will blast with just the 2 adjustments I mentioned in stock form.

Yes they can be dual finals but the internal power supply just can't handle the extra load, you will have to run an external supply. I would recommend a amplifier instead.

I modded a DX-2547 with dual finals (ERF2023 mosfet mod)..... copied the scat/instructions for the on on CB Tricks, and ran an external power supply to run the little guy. Really is a "DX-959" with it's own power supply built in.
