I am about ready to pull the trigger on an RM amp (or another brand suggestion), just wondering if there's a nice match with my Cobra 2000gtl? I don't need a ton of power, just a little grit to get out there when needed.
Of course I will go to a sponsor for my purchase if that's possible :D

I would say the 2 most popular are the KL-203P and The KL-503. If just looking for a little push, try the KL-203P at $69. Will give you around 100-150 watts i believe. Now the KL-503 will put out around 200-250 for around $170. But check them out they have a nice selection.

Well I tried to buy the KL-503HD but shows they're out of stock right now. I think with the input drive complaints and warnings about these RM amps I'd rather get the HD version just for the added margin of safety.

With those RM amps your going to need a power supply with enough amperage to handle the box... What I run with my Cobra 2000 is a Palomar 300A tube amp..,pairs-up nice with a stock 2000 GTL, and does around 750w+

Like JJD said, you will need a good PS, a 30a should do the trick, bigger would be better. Most use switching supplies like MegaWatt, think he is still a sponsor here. You should not need to detune the Cobra as long as it's making stock wattage. That amp is a mosfet amp so everything has to be in order, good connections, SWR, etc.
I am in total agreement with JJD on his choice of amps, I have a AL-811H (for ham use of course
) tubes give you that "warm and fuzzy" feeling.

I have an Astron 50 amp so no problem there. I have another post in the amplifier forum looking for a tech. I have a tube amp that needs work, a Loudmouth 1X3 that's not working. That's the amp I REALLY want to use! I know it'll get fixed eventually so I figured get an RM for now and then move it mobile when the warm & fuzzy box is working.
