I'm surprised I've been on this site for so long and never posted the video I made of my custom built 80-foot Tip Tower, which can be raised/lowered with my BARE HANDS!!!!!

nice....don't think it's anywhere close to 80' tho...more like 40', but still well thought out.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

The actual tipping tower is 65' and the fence post is 12' which = 77' at the base of the antenna. I have the design plans it was built from.jessejamesdallas wrote: Jan 24 2020, 16:44 nice....don't think it's anywhere close to 80' tho...more like 40', but still well thought out.

I saw the YouTube on this when you first posted it there, was interesting then as it is now. If you like, you can share the spec's on the build for those here that might want to use them. The spec's can be modded to 40ft etc.

Sorry, I didn't know I had previously share it. I checked all my posts when I came back and didn't see it. As for the specs. Many have asked on YouTube and I have to share them thru file sharing as the spec-file is VERY large.MDYoungblood wrote: Jan 25 2020, 07:48 I saw the YouTube on this when you first posted it there, was interesting then as it is now. Very nice! Great way to maintain the antenna. Height is might! When you’re ready to put it on the roof for the extra 20 feet, let me know. Just be sure there is plenty of cold beer and good food to go with it! Seriously you did a wonderful job on that one. Something like that is what I would need at the cabin to put up my Jo-Gunn 5 element beam that I’m been wanting to put up. Cheers! Brian from the last frontier!

Jo-Gunn's are excellent antennas. My buddy has an 8-element quad from Jo-Gunn up 80-feet. He runs a 400-Watt transceiver though it with a Silver Eagle power mic. Needless to say, he's pretty much got the entire State covered base to mobile. I take road trips while keeping in contact with him.

One day I’ll have it up. Been sitting high and dry out at my cabin for 15 years now. Screaming deal on it, couldn’t pass it up.The hill behind the cabin is about 100 feet up. I’ve got that as an advantage and a 40 foot Rohn tower to put it up on. Gonna fab up a pivotal base for it so I can maintain it easily. Got 9 miles of lake to use for a ground plane too! Made some awesome contacts out there with just my Midland 79-290 with a D-104 power Mike / Texas Star 667v combo hooked to a , kid you not, 30 year old Antron-99 with a ground plane kit! Can’t imagine how that 5 element JoGunn will do!
