Probably should send it to someone who tunes radios,,,but here it is AM POWER is VR10,,,and thats all you should set on a 148GTL,,,same for 146GTL also,,,,,,there is more to the radio,,,but without the right equipment you'll loose the freq ect,,,,hope that helps
Aren't the 148 and the Grant Xl the same radio internally? If so then one should be able to remove R131. I installed a Sparktune modulator in my Grant and removed R131. It did indeed become an audio beast.
