Hi,
The SBE LCBS-8 "(Land Command Base Station #8)" is easy to wire a Turner microphone. Need a 4 pin mic plug.
This radio is "relay" switching. Wiring is,
1 - shield (ground)
2 - white (audio)
3- black (PTT ground)
4 - red (PTT TX)
Now because you have a six wire microphone, this wiring changes to,
1 - shield (ground)
2 - white (audio)
3 - blue (switching ground PTT)
4 - red (PTT TX)
The black and yellow are not connected, isolate them (or clip off) so they cannot make contact inside the mic plug. See, easy.

BTW,, very nice radio, don't do any mods and it will be worth a lot more in the future.

This units mike plug is a 5 pin ( similar to a din, but with screw-on retainer). Right now it looks like: 1- white. 2- shield. 3- black. 4- red. 5- blue . Yellow - n/c. Mods were done when unit was new. Meters are a little sticky. I'll finish repairs to the mike and then test it using it as wired first and see what happens...

Not sure what you mean,, the plug on the mic is a 5pin or the jack on the radio is a 5pin?? What was the mic wired for??

Jack on the radio and the plug on the mike are 5 pin. Supposedly it's wired for thg he unit, but hasn't been used in 35 years. Base has output, no audio yet. Have to replace battery clip and see what happens when I power up and test them together. Let you know what happens in a few days. Tnks.

Sounds like someone modded to Cobra/Uniden 5pin wiring but the black/red/blue aren't quite right. All that I checked on says the radio had a 4pin jack and is relay switching. Looks like you are going ti have to figure it out.
