Attic antenna set up
This is at my old location so obviously everything has been removed but you will still get a general idea of how I was able to run my Maco M-103C and a Solarcon A99 antenna in the attic. Pretty funny looking back on it. Make sure to read video description.[Please login or register to view this link]

You're a bad influence on me there Bobcat !lol Ya, I had to call off work this evening because of an emergency dental appointment. So feeling extra loopy and looking like a deranged chipmunk I figured why not film it today ha ha! Thanks man. Not sure about ingenious but I'll settle for lunatic!Bobcat wrote: February 12th, 2020, 3:30 pm Did you JUST FILM THAT TODAY?????

Re: Attic antenna set up
One way to get around those pesky HOA's.
My daughter was renting a townhouse, (I'm from a day they were called "rowhomes"), I built a "Zepper" antenna and installed it in the vent pipe, no one was the wiser, never even asked why the pipe was sticking 12ft above the roof. I'm guessing it's still in there, she moved out a couple years ago.

Re: Attic antenna set up
I once set up my Pat12 in my living room. Somewhere on this site i posted pics of it. I thought that was a bit crazy. Looking to install something in my attic also. Probably will go with a dipole.

Re: Attic antenna set up
That is great!
I am taking it that was a PVC pipe or something similar? or were you actually loading the PIPE??
I'm not familiar with the antenna... I will go and research....

Re: Attic antenna set up
The pipe was a waste vent, 2" black PVC, cut it off low in the attic.Bobcat wrote: February 18th, 2020, 12:07 pm That is great!

The antenna is nothing more than a coax that is fed at the top with a pipe (soft roll copper tubing, coax pushed thru it, center conductor soldered to the tube). The tubing was zip tied inside the 2" pipe. I think the tube ended up being about 17ft long, took a few tries at getting he SWR right. A choke or several snap ferrites (I used both) are required where the coax came through the pipe into the house (seal the hole with silicone) and reconnected the waste pipe with a fernco coupler.
