Re: GALAXY SATURN PROBLEMS
Fuses would be the first thing, no lights means no power to the board. Not really sure but I'd bet there is one inside from the internal PS to the board.

If it has a switching power supply, there is a fuse inside it too.

Re: GALAXY SATURN PROBLEMS
I'm thinking maybe it does because the lights on the meters were on and functioning, just without sound...MDYoungblood wrote: March 13th, 2020, 3:23 pm If it has a switching power supply, there is a fuse inside it too.

Re: GALAXY SATURN PROBLEMS
At least you know the PS is working, the meter lights must be straight off it. Are you getting output when transmitting?

Your probably not going want to here this but that radio is due for a recap. Might be all it needs. Recapping an entire radio isn't all that bad once you get rolling. I just did a base a couple weeks ago.

Re: GALAXY SATURN PROBLEMS
Your probably right, I picked it a few years back. Don't know much about what if or anything was done to it from the previous owner. I only paid $250, which it came with a Galaxy 88, antron99, and PDC 600 meter, with a few D 104's...So I probably could put a few bucks back in it..What's the prices on recapping a radio these days??gunner121 wrote: March 17th, 2020, 3:35 am Your probably not going want to here this but that radio is due for a recap. Re: GALAXY SATURN PROBLEMS
Did you check the external speaker contacts. Spray some contact or tuner cleaner in the jack and work it with a plug and see if you get your audio back!
