I got one of these in great condition - Ordered a 8.559 Crystal from **Non Sponsor** an swapped it out so it now has 36-37-38-40 on channels 9-10-11-12 - Great talking vintage radio - Total investment was under $50 bucks - This has the same electronics as the 139 23ch base unit

There is a midland mobile/base that uses the same board also. The bottom cover has a large hump to make room tpfor the power supply and speaker, i have that cover, speaker, PS in my parts stash.

The Cobra 138 was a mobile, really decent, not complicated SSB radio. There were a few around here back in the day, one local shop only sold Cobra CB's. I guess they were trashed over the years, finding one in good shape is rare.

Hello .
Just wanted to say I bought a cobra 134 new back in 1976? I now have 3 of them 4 139 and a 139. The 134 was my best talking radio I EVER had.. It e was also the first radio I EVER modded.

I hear you brother...I now have 3 of them and 2 are new old stock. !
There is a Texas Blackface AM version that matches up to the 134...dont remember the model ..26 28 ?
This AM version is an exact match to the Cobra 29...without the dynamike control

And now here is the AM version (Cobra 26) of the CobraTexas Blackface Edition...produced Jan 1976.
Only differences are the elimination of the Dynamike controls present on the Cobra 29 and 138...PCB's are identical.
