Well, just finished going to the battery. It was a pain in the **Censored**, let me tell you. I like to get things done right. Looken sharp, ya know what I mean. So, any-hoo. I couldn't find any plugs under or on the floor board. So I went in through the driver side power window and lock plug. It was not easy , but it got done. Now for the good news. When I powered the 4300 hp up, I could see a twinkle in its eye. It has power now. I still need to drive a minute out to the country to check SWR. Yeah, now I think I'm ready for the SWP 4600.
Just one more thing, should I or how important is it to run a fuse close to the battery and or the ground? I haven't gotten around to that yet. Should I ASAP? Or can it wait a day or so, and can I still power up the radio?
For going to the battery, do people normally go through the plug in the floor board? i was looking for an entrance through the firewall, but couldn't find a free space.

There is sometimes room for you to run power wires thru the am/fm antenna grommet.. If not, you can get 2 separate plastic grommets that you just drill a hole in the firewall and put them in.. They will tighten down on the wire by turning the lock ring.. I just installed a pair in a truck last week and it makes for a nice install..
I went in through, under the hood and through the power window grommet. Worked out well for me. Got about 20 more watts off the battery stinken cig lighters stink. STINK
I went to Wal-Mart and got an adapter for the side of the terminal. Hooked that up. I grounded the the body of the car. I have a fuse on the battery side of the wire and one on the radio side as well. Be careful not to hook up the wire till the last thing. If you hook that sucker up first, It gonna run hot. If it hits metal, watch out. Do you want need pics for a visual. I can send them to you. I would be glad to.
FOR THE RADIO I WOULD RUN THE POSITIVE WIRE TO THE POS SIDE OF BATTERY AND NEG TO NEG ON BATTERY. NOW IF YOU ARE RUNNING AN AMP I WOULD RUN POST. TO THE POST SIDE OF BATTERY AND THE NEG TO THE SEAT MOUNT. ON AN AMP YOU WANT YOUR GROUND TO BE SHORT AS POSSIBLE
STICKMAN
Pics would be great! Now from what I've read on here, you should hook up the positive directly to the batter and the negative to the seat post (even without an amp). What do y'all think about that?
The pics have been sent. Notice the THICK Gage of wire used. This is important with bigger radios. I think that Wal-mart adapter cost about $5 and I got a bunch of wire connectors and stuff for $7 or so.
